St. Mary’s set for league final appearance
St. Mary’s went to the top of the Sligo handball league table following their 84-45 victory over Castleconnor B played in the St. Mary’s club on Sunday. It was a great team display with all 4 St. Mary’s players playing their part in an impressive win over Castleconnor’s second team. Connell Cannon & Seamus Duffy opened up a big 22 point lead after the first doubles match. St. Mary’s second pairing of Michael McMorrow & Peter Chambers shut the door on any Castleconnor comeback and finished strongly with an 21-12, 21-13 over an ever improving Jason Earlis & Ollie Fleming. St. Mary’s have 4 wins out of 4 and there 2 reamining games are against Collooney & Castleconnor A. One more victory will ensure them a place in the final.

Drumciffe need one more win to reach final
Drumcliffe have 4 wins out of 5 and their only defeat in this years league came at the hands of St. Mary's the 2009 champions. Drumciffe's Pat O'Sullivan & Colin Slevin laid the foundations for a Drumcliff victory when getting the better of Castleconnor's B Mark Murphy & Larry Jones in the competitive first doubles tussle. Drumcliffe's 2nd doubles pairing of Eamon Bellew & Ken Cunningham broke Castleconnor's resolve with a strong showing against the 2nd Castleconnor doubles pairing of Oisin Quinn & Micheal Jones. Drumcliffe’s next game is against Collooney and victory here should the see the club reach it’s first league final.

Sligo I.T. gain league win
Sligo I.T. got their first points in the league with a narrow 64-58 success over a Collooney side that had a blend of youth and experience. Sligo I.T. with Ballaghaderreen’s Amy Corrigan was in inspired form and helped the Student’s to a fully merited win.

The AGM of the Sligo Handball Board will take place in the St. Mary’s on Wednesday 7th December at 7.30 p.m
The Sligo Co. Handball Board passed a vote of sympathy with Tom Tuffy Castleconnor handball club on the death of his grandmother Kathleen Tuffy last week
